Acts of Service
I was emailing my aunt in Australia about my birthday and she said it was nice that Billy could feed Daniel his breakfast milk yesterday. It made me reflect upon the fact that this was truely special. It also brought to mind a conversation that Billy and I had a little later in the morning. Billy was worrying about the fact that he hadnt got me anything for my birthday. However, I pointed out to him that he had in fact given me 2 wonderful gifts. Gifts dont need to always be brought in a shop with $$. Billy performed 2 acts of service yesterday morning. He got Daniel up and feed him his bottle and he also allowed me to sleep in. These were in fact truely wonderful gifts as I was tired I have been coughing a lot during the night due to a chest infection. I went to the doctor this morning and I was given medicine for it.
In this article it talks about acts of service. It says that through acts of service we can show others we love them and care about them by ministering to their needs. It goes on to say that God wants us to serve one another thereby serving Him. It is a way we can show we are His disciples. Serving is others centred a worthy characteristic I believe we need to encourage in our children.
Daniel was tested for Coeliac Disease
This morning I took Daniel for a blood test not an easy thing to do or even have performed on one so young. Daniel's daddy has the disease so there is a chance that Daniel may have it too. Join me in praying that he doesnt. My doctor suggested we wait another month before we get it done however I took him anyway. He has started eating solids now and I want to do what is best for him. If he in fact has it I can get organised properly and deal with it. I can find altertives to bread for example before I need to. If he doesnt then I can relax. Besides which I had to brace myself for the fact that he wouldnt like it much which he didnt. I believe in being with my children when they get stuff done at the doctors however I nearly did cry alongside him. On reflection however it wasnt as bad as when Daniel had to have a luer in his hand when he was about a month old.
We will get the reults in about a fortnight I will keep u posted :)

yes so agree with you about service and teaching our children about it, it's also important to tell them that we need to serve others with a joyful spirit. Praying for your son too, let us knwo the results.
that's is beautiful what billy did. acts of service is not my primary love language but i think it is my husbands, so i really have to work at doing those little things for him, because to him it says "i love you"
praying daniel is ok! when my son had to get a tongue tie snipped under his tongue at 2 weeks old I cried my eyes out, but i was there too....and when my daughter had to be catheterized at 20 months i cried with her, but I was there too. When my other daughter had croup and needed a mask at the hospital...she was so tramamtized and crying so hard, but I had to be there....it would be so much more tramatic for them if mommy didn't stay! I'm like you.....have to be there.
thanks my beautiful friends

I give you my thoughts that your child has to suffer a bit to get that done, I hope it works out well for you and him, better than doen than having problems later on in life.
Hugs for you and hugs for him from me
