This morning, a warm sunny one, I took Daniel out on to the deck as I sometimes do when hanging the washing on the clothes line. Since Daniel has learnt to sit he doesn’t like his bouncinette anymore - its too resisting. After I had hung the washing I took him out of it and gave him a few toys and sat him on the deck. He played with them only a little this was a new place to sit and a place to explore. No time for boring old toys. He lay down and then spotted the door hook that keeps the door latched back when the door is open. He played with it for quite a while. (Who said babies have short attention spans? I don’t and have never felt that this is to be so with Daniel once he gets interested in something he plays and plays and plays with it) Daniel knows that doors can swing, he under my supervision discovered this last week with my bedroom door. He found that this door swings too. After a while the door swung shut. Daniel rolled around and around in a 360 circle. Pushing the washing basket over the side of the deck on his way round. Then he rolled and tummy crawled over to the shut door and BONUS he found that know he had 2 door hooks!! He played with them discovering he could hold them both in one hand. He also found that he could pull the door partly open with them. He found the plastic door mat but he was still much more interested in the door hooks. After a while he rolled around again and even ended up rolling over to me - not that I was very interesting. Then h almost rolled off the deck. So we decided it was time to go inside again. He’s looking forward to more outside time on the deck now. The exploration possibilities that await! “Oooo Mum I cant wait!”

Sounds like he had a good time out on the deck! I just love watching babies explore like that!
